Simple Ways to Balance Your Chakras
According to the yogic tradition, there are seven chakras in our bodies which are seven energy centers. Each chakra relates to a sense, an element and a color and even though they are not tangible, they can impact our physical and mental bodies (more on our four bodies here).
When our chakras are aligned and balanced we live in harmony, peace and joy, our health is improved and love, passion and creativity flow.
But often, one or more of our chakras are off balance which impacts everything in our life.
I will go through each chakra and give tips and tools to help you bring them back into balance and harmony so that you can improve your overall wellbeing.
1. Root Chakra
The first Chakra is located in the tailbone area, at the base of our spine. It corresponds to the color red and represents survival, security and stability.
Do you feel rooted in your life? Do you feel secure? If so your Root Chakra is probably healthy.
However if your are often anxious, nervous and if you worry about survival issues or food, family and your finances (having enough money, being financially independent) etc. then you might want to heal this Chakra.
Ways to help you balance your Root Chakra :
Walk barefoot, dance, practice yoga, gardening or anything related to the EARTH.
Try the Sufi Grind posture from Kundalini Yoga. Sit in a comfortable crossed legged pose, hold your knees, rotate your spine keeping it straight and your head upright, inhale going forward, exhale going back. And then switch rotations.
